Jeff Purvis Relishes Memories of a Career Worth Celebrating

Many enthusiasts of Dirt Late Model racing consider the World 100 held annually at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway to be the most prestigious of events in that form of racing. Ernie Irvan scored a total of 15 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series wins over the course of a thirteen year career. Among those victories was his first career triumph at the Bristol Motor Speedway in 1990 and the 1991 Daytona 500. Ryan Repko captures CARS LMS Tour win at Hickory

The portion of the Throwback 276 event held on Saturday at Hickory Motor Speedway for the CARS Late Model Stock Tour belonged to Ryan Repko after he made a late race pass to take the lead. It was the first CARS Late Model Stock Tour win for the Denver, NC driver’s career. The CARS Super Late Model Tour rolled into the Hickory Motor Speedway on Saturday to take part in the 3rd annual Throwback 276. Matt Craig came away as the winner from the event that has become a favorite on the racing calendar because of the cars being wrapped in the schemes from an earlier era. Layne Riggs looking for CARS Tour Throwback victory in father’s scheme

Although Layne Riggs grew up in a racing family, he didn’t necessarily always have the notion to become a race car driver. While his dad, Scott Riggs, was competing and winning in NASCAR’s top divisions, the young son was certainly paying attention but was not particularly looking to follow in his father’s footsteps by climbing into the driver’s seat.
