Chad Finchum looking for fresh start

Chad Finchum is no different than hundreds of other race car drivers across the country – looking to make it in NASCAR. The Knoxville, Tennessee native hopes his new opportunity will lead to bigger and better things in NASCAR. Finchum announced earlier this week he will be driving in three races for SS Greenlight Racing in the Xfinity series. Finchum will compete next weekend at Darlington plus races at Bristol Motor Speedway and Martinsville Speedway. Finchum’s career started out promising. Jeremy Clements is used to fighting uphill battles. The Spartanburg, SC native has long competed against some of NASCAR’s power organizations by running full time on the Xfinity Series with his single-car operation run out of his family’s Dirt Late Model racing engine shop. Mike Marlar set to make Xfinity Series debut in Richmond

For the second time in 2019 driver Mike Marlar will be making a NASCAR debut. On Friday night at the Richmond Raceway the Winfield, Tenn. native will try something he has not previously done before in his extensive racing career as he plans to make his debut with the NASCAR Xfinity Series in the Go Bowling 250. An east Tennessee legend will be represented on one of the cars competing for the win on Saturday afternoon in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race when that series rolls into the Bristol Motor Speedway for the Alsco 300. Knoxville’s Chad Finchum set to race for MBM Motorsports in 2019

Chad Finchum will be back in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2019 with MBM Motorsports. The 24-year-old driver recently confirmed the news with an announcement on Twitter. It will be the Knoxville, Tenn. racer’s second season with the Carl Long-owned operation. Finchum made 32 starts in NASCAR’s second series in 2018 completing just over 4,000 laps. The team’s efforts resulted in a 30th place finish in the final Xfinity Series standings. NASCAR to cut field sizes in Xfinity and Truck Series for 2019

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 23, 2018) – NASCAR announced several rules for the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series aimed at strengthening both the competition on the race track and the identity of each series. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, a maximum starting field will be 38 cars starting in 2019.
