Live Updates: WoO Late Models at The Dirt Track(11-9-19)

InsideCircleTrack.com in conjunction with InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates from the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series sanctioned Can-Am World Finals event at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on Saturday evening, November 9, 2019. The updates will be provided by Richard Allen(@RichardAllenIDR on Twitter and @RichardAllenIDR on Instagram).

These updates are brought to you by Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. The 2019 season has concluded at SMS but schedule information for next year will be released in the coming weeks.

Classes in action: World of Outlaws Late Model Series for $12,000-to-win(50 laps) as well as Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

General Information:

Weather is expected to be cool with little to no chance for rain.

Opening ceremonies are set for 3:45 with racing to follow soon afterwards.

This is the second of a two-night event. Chris Madden beat out Scott Bloomquist and Jonathan Davenport on Friday.

Brandon Sheppard has already clinched the WoO Late Models championship.

Shane Clanton, Chase Junghans, Darrell Lanigan and Ricky Weiss are involved in a very close battle for positions 2-5 in the standings. Only 30 points separate those four drivers with $30,000 being the difference in payout from second to fifth.

3:45- Opening ceremonies and final track prep underway.

4:10- Big-Block Modified last chance races underway. Sprint Cars and Late Models will follow soon.

5:22- Sprint Car heats have concluded. It’s time for WoO Late Model heat races. Lineups posted below.

Lap 20- Davenport by Owens on the outside in traffic.

Lap 21- Owens back to the lead.

Lap 23 caution for Sheppard. Owens leads Davenport, Blankenship, Weiss, Madden, Clanton, Marlar, McDowell

Lap 33 caution. Owens leads Davenport, Weiss, Madden, McDowell and Blankenship. Weiss and Madden had been having a great battle for third prior to the caution.

Weiss closed in late as the leaders worked traffic but Owens held him off.
